About the event
As a part of the 2025 Discovering Garfield Series, The Garfield Trail of Ohio is hosting C.W. Goodyear at the Western Reserve Academy Chapel. He will present James A. Garfield's ties to Hudson, the Academy, and education.
The chapel on “Brick Row,” built in 1836 in the Federal/Greek Revival style, is the setting for this exclusive talk. The building’s recent restoration will take you back in time as you are seated in a pew facing a large Palladian window.
This ***FREE*** talk, sponsored by the non-profit Garfield Trail of Ohio, will be followed by light refreshments and a book signing. The Learned Owl Book Shop on historic Main St. in Hudson is partnering with the Trail to provide Mr. Goodyear’s book, President Garfield: From Radical to Unifier, for sale and signing.
Parking is available in campus lots and on side streets near the chapel. The building is ADA accessible.
